Language in Europe

Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

International understanding and successful social integration are decisively determined by linguistic factors. Language is not only a common means of interaction, but also an important identity-forming characteristic. The course focuses on migration and integration in Europe as well as language and cognition. The course concentrates on the European linguistic and cultural area, but also allows students to study certain non-European linguistic and cultural areas. With regard to the intended inclusion of migrant languages, it is also planned to study a potential contact language. The consecutive specialist Master's degree course is designed as a research-oriented full-time course with 120 credit points and is completed with a Master's thesis.
