Language Sciences

Master of Arts (M.A.)

About the Program

Language Sciences (= LS) stands for the interdisciplinary cooperation of those disciplines which have a focus on language (e.g. linguistics and the various philologies). Language offers a rich variety of possible approaches as it combines structural, social, technological and cognitive aspects. With a view to understanding the nature of language, it is necessary to address language in cooperation with as many disciplines as possible. Our students are trained to carry out research work independently. They handle multilingual sets of data adequately and are familiar with the on-going debate in LS.
