The interdisciplinary master's degree program Linguistics incorporates input from the fields of German studies, English studies and Romance studies as well as intercultural communications and multilingualism research. It is intended for students who have completed a bachelor's degree program in linguistics or philology. The degree program is research-oriented and covers the full spectrum of synchronic and diachronic linguistics. At the program's core is the cultivation of students' ability to combine linguistic theory development with empirical methods and apply them across different fields in an interdisciplinary manner.
