About the Program
The master's programme in design at HAWK focuses on integrative design, team-oriented leadership, strategic thinking and design-oriented research. Students take an in-depth and reflective look at the subject spectrum of design and acquire special skills in project development, design management, strategy, design research, and design. The program includes courses in design management, design science and futurology, media theory, communication science and strategies, cultural history, social sciences, design marketing, design philosophy, team and strategy, and design thinking. The design programme is interdisciplinary with nine fields of competence: Advertising Design, Branding Design, Digital Environments, Colour Design, Graphic Design, Interior Architecture, Lighting Design, Metal Design, and Product Design. Individual courses of study that link different design disciplines are possible under the degree designation "Integrated Design."
