About the Program

Electrical Systems Engineering (ESE) is a new and thrilling multidisciplinary research field that combines methods of electrical engineering, information technology, computer engineering, and applied mathematics for the design of entire electrical systems. The Master's programme in Electrical System Engineering (MS ESE) is a two-year, full-time programme. It offers two specialisations: Signal & Information Processing concentrates more on the computational aspects of a system's behaviour, while Electronics & Devices focuses on IC design on the micro- or nano-scale and on aspects of hardware implementation. The innovative, well-structured course programme, excellent equipment, small groups, and intensive interaction between students and staff members ensure successful graduation. Our department regularly receives top rankings in Germany. The close cooperation of the department with a number of industrial partners guarantees practically-oriented lectures and provides students with opportunities to make contact with prospective future employers. Additionally, the research strength allows students to obtain the fundamental background necessary for a subsequent PhD. We provide a stimulating atmosphere in an international and interdisciplinary study environment.
