About the Program

Mechanical engineers plan and design technical products and processes of all kinds. They are responsible for the development and utilization of new technologies as well as the design and manufacture of innovative products. Graduates of the Master's degree program in Mechanical Engineering are sought-after managers, for example in project planning, design, maintenance or quality assurance. The three-semester Master's degree course at the University of Kassel builds on the knowledge that students have acquired in their previous Bachelor's degree. There are only a few compulsory courses. Instead, the course offers sufficient scope for individual specialization in the following areas: Sustainable materials and manufacturing processes, Energy technology and environmental technology, Automation and digital transformation, Modeling and simulation in applied mechanics, People - Organization - Technology, Sustainable vehicle technology.
