Media Informatics

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

Media Informatics combines two future-relevant industries and offers students a diverse curriculum. The program is interdisciplinary and includes a combination of all areas of computer science against the background of the creation, transmission, storage, processing, and presentation of digital media. Classical computer science is very present in the course of study, which is why a strong interest in mathematics, algorithms/data structures, and programming is important. These focal points are supplemented by relevant content from the media industry. For example, media science fundamentals, the development of multimedia applications, or the design of media objects are on the curriculum. The competence development during the studies aims to enable students to optimally network the various disciplines in order to interact as all-rounders in professional life. In the age of mobile applications on smartphones and tablet PCs, the work areas for media computer scientists are constantly expanding, resulting in excellent career prospects for graduates of the program.
