About the Program

Media Studies is an interdisciplinary two-subject Bachelor's degree programme following the 'Braunschweiger Modell'. The programme combines competences in cultural and communication studies, media technology and media practice through cooperation between Braunschweig University of Art and TU Braunschweig. Students acquire core competences in media sciences and broad knowledge in media-related areas. The programme focuses on three core areas: Media culture (history, theory and analysis of media), Media technology (basics from engineering and computer science), and Communication sciences and media contexts. The programme includes an integrated internship and can be combined with various minor subjects such as English Studies, German Studies, Computer and Communication Systems Engineering, Art History and Aesthetics, or Visual Communication. Graduates can find employment in film and television, new media, cultural and media management, media education, journalism, media research, and communication management.
