About the Program

The Medical Engineering degree programme is heavily geared towards the technical engineering aspects of medical engineering. Students learn about aspects of electrical engineering/hardware development, computer science/software development, and mechanics/construction, which provide them with the skills needed to develop, maintain, and ensure quality assurance for state-of-the-art medical devices, imaging systems, hospital networks, mobile applications, prostheses and innovative implants. The programme has a large practical component, with access to state-of-the-art medical engineering laboratories where students can work with clinical equipment such as ventilation and anaesthesia, electrosurgery, ultrasound imaging, endoscopy, intubation, spirometry, audiometry, EEG, ECG, TM, and a magnetic resonance imaging machine.
