About the Program

IT is omnipresent these days and plays an important role in almost all areas of life. From smartphones and assistance systems in cars to digital media. With advancing digitalisation and the growing importance of multimedia applications, computer science is also becoming increasingly relevant for media professions. The degree programme trains specialists who are ideally prepared for this development. The Medieninformatik degree programme combines sound computer science knowledge with a wide range of media-specific specialisations. In the foundation programme, students acquire information technology, mathematical and media-related fundamentals. The main study programme offers freedom of choice with specialisations in gaming, software development, artificial intelligence, computer animation, web applications or networks. Design and audiovisual media are also available. Practical projects, an internship semester, which is also possible abroad, and close contacts with industry strengthen the practical relevance of the programme.
