About the Program

The University Medical Center provides a fundamental scientific, practice-oriented and interdisciplinary education consisting of systematic lectures, practical exercises and courses, seminars, and bedside teaching in small groups. Theoretical and clinical teaching content are linked throughout the training. Skills labs are available for learning practical abilities and skills. Each student can use an extensive range of electives according to their own interests and inclinations. Through connection to international exchange programs, prospective physicians can gain experience at foreign universities and continue their studies without loss of time upon their return. The medical study comprises: a 5-year university study with lectures, courses, seminars, internships, and bedside teaching; the 6th year of study with continuous practical training in hospitals and general medical practices; first aid training; a 3-month nursing service; and a 4-month clinical clerkship (Famulatur). The medical study is divided into a preclinical and a clinical study section.
