About the Program

The Medical Technology program focuses on modern medical technology such as ECG devices, ventilators, or pacemakers, which are essential for hospitals and medical practices for diagnosis and treatment. The Bachelor's program offers a solid foundation with subsequent specialization options in 'Electrical Medical Technology' or 'Mechanical Medical Technology'. Electrical Medical Technology deals with electrical signals in the human body and techniques for measuring these and all body functions using electrical and physical methods. Mechanical Medical Technology focuses on the development and construction of medical (auxiliary) devices and the testing of medical products. The program can be completed as a direct study (six semesters) or as a dual study program (seven semesters). The curriculum includes a balanced combination of medical knowledge, mathematical-scientific engineering knowledge, and specialized knowledge of medical technology. Economic, social, and societal aspects of medical technology are also taught.
