About the Program

Graduates of the cooperative B.Sc. degree programme in Midwifery are qualified to practice as midwives. Through academic and evidence-based study and reflection, you will acquire the skills necessary to provide families with all the services typically offered by a midwife, including family planning, care during pregnancy and birth, and support up to the end of a child's first year of life. Academic and practical training are combined in the course structure and content. Upon completing this undergraduate course you will be awarded an academic qualification (B.Sc.) and a licence to practice midwifery. The course's theoretical units are held at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) and the Universität Hamburg's Faculty of Medicine at the Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). The practical components take place in supervising clinical practice facilities and cooperating academic practice facilities in and around Hamburg.
