About the Program

The goal of academic midwifery education is to send reflective midwives on their way. Based on their specific knowledge and empathy, they will accompany women in an individualized and needs-oriented manner. The programme addresses the needs of the profession of midwifery, including findings from evidence-based research as well as traditional midwifery knowledge. The study programme creates a link between scientific, evidence-based work and practical work in clinics and non-clinical jobs. The course comprises 3 areas of learning: Theory, Skills lab, and Practical study phases. University-based and practical phases alternate during the course of the study programme.
