Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

The Bachelor of Arts degree programme in Pädagogik uses tensions as an opportunity to develop social constitutional conditions, theories and cognitive methods of education using central basic categories of educational science and to transfer them to specific problems within the discipline. Through an introduction to research processes in the human sciences in the context of basic educational categories and methodological approaches, students are encouraged to make well-founded critical judgements and to classify scientific findings in social contexts. Pedagogy thus always implies an examination of (vocational) education theory and pedagogical practice as well as their interaction. The ability to assess relevant bodies of knowledge and the (self-)reflection of professional ethical attitudes are essential goals of the study programme. The study programme is divided into a basic and an extended area, in which a methodical and systematic introduction to the subject takes place. This also includes a 400-hour internship (15 CP) in an educational practice field and a freely selectable compulsory elective area (24 CP). In the profile area, students get to know the research foci of the institute and are thus introduced to their own research work/thesis.
