Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

The Nursing Science program prepares students for professional nursing activities and evidence-based practice in various nursing fields. The work in the nursing profession is demanding, future-proof, and diverse. Nursing situations are becoming increasingly difficult to manage. The program aims to enable patients and their relatives to live self-determined and responsible lives at home or in nursing homes. Health promotion, prevention, and counseling for people of all ages are becoming increasingly important nursing tasks. In hospitals, nursing professionals play a central role in healthcare within interdisciplinary teams. Highly qualified academic nursing professionals primarily manage highly complex nursing situations. The program benefits from cooperations with healthcare institutions, allowing students to establish contacts and get to know exciting professional fields during their studies. Practice phases take place in these institutions and at the university, e.g., during simulation days. Graduates will be able to act reflectively and independently, critically reflect on existing care concepts, initiate change processes and practical projects, research current study results and guidelines, support the transfer of scientific knowledge into nursing practice, and participate in evaluating the quality of care.
