About the Program

Philosophy explores basic questions regarding reality, the world, life, actions and knowledge. The history of philosophy is the history of human thought that asks philosophical questions and seeks to answer them. The program aims to develop students' understanding of classical philosophical problems and questions by studying important historical positions and periods, and becoming acquainted with philosophical working methods in systematic and historical aspects. The curriculum covers general history of philosophy (from antiquity and Middle Ages to contemporary philosophy), as well as subfields like philosophy of religion, aesthetics, philosophy of mind, modern philosophy of science and nature, modern logic, and topical areas like bioethics. This subject must be combined with a second subject.
