About the Program

This is a German-French double degree program in Philosophy/Ethics. Students spend half of their study time at JGU Mainz and half at the Université Bourgogne Europe (UBE) in Dijon, France. The program focuses on the fundamental problems of human self-understanding and worldview. Students study the conditions and history of thinking and cognition, the position of humans in the world, the conditions and norms of human action and coexistence, and the status of humans as physical and spiritual beings. The program aims to develop competence in independent scientific philosophizing while also teaching how to convey this ability to future students with fun and creativity. The program must be combined with French as a second subject.
