About the Program

Philosophy as a major within the double major Bachelor's degree programme focuses on interpreting and understanding human existence, exploring the conditions and history of thinking and cognition, and examining the position of human beings in the world. Study contents include world, language, argument; science, technology, mind; society, power, ethics; the human being, culture, art; phenomenon, existence, being; history of philosophy; and science and technology studies. The program can be studied with a subject-specific goal or as part of a teacher training course for Gymnasien, though it's currently not possible to continue Philosophy studies in the Master of Education at TU Braunschweig.
