About the Program

The Master of Education in Philosophy/Ethics prepares students to help young people make ethical decisions and practice moral reflection. The program focuses on fundamental questions of human self-understanding and worldview. Students explore historical developments of thinking and cognition, the position of humans in the universe, norms and conditions of human action and coexistence, and the human existence as both physical and spiritual beings. The program also analyzes the categorical, individual, and social conditions that shape human thinking and action - knowledge that is central to ethics education. Students develop competencies to prepare for their role as ethics teachers, including fostering problem awareness and the ability for written and oral discourse among their students.
