Physician Assistance

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

Physician Assistant (PA) is a new medical assistant profession in Germany. Due to their well-founded university education, PAs can take on medical tasks within the framework of the delegation principle. Physician assistants close an important gap in medical care between doctor and patient. They can take on tasks delegated by doctors and can be deployed in a variety of ways in healthcare thanks to the practical orientation of the degree programme, which is based on sound medical knowledge. Both patient-related activities (participation in diagnosis, complex examinations, interventions and emergency treatment) and organisational skills (process management, team coordination, participation in documentation) are part of the future responsibilities of PAs. The degree programme is divided into four subject areas: medical basics, process and quality management, system and methodological competence and medical practice.
