About the Program

The artistic-practical Master's degree program 'Popular Music' is an interdisciplinary project course aimed at artists with a Bachelor's degree and artistic experience. The focus is on the creation of pop music as an independent art form, emphasizing artistic-practical work. The aim is to realize artistic development projects within various artistic projects. Students combine musical and artistic work with organizational, technical and economic aspects. The course offers a freely selectable range of courses on various creative means and techniques that expands individual artistic skills. The program focuses on two main areas: 'Artistic Composer/Producer' and 'Performing Artist', allowing for individual training paths. The four-semester course consists of two main modules: the 'Project' module (artistic work and research) and the 'Reflection and Context' module (scientific and economic-legal content). In the first year, students work on two compact projects, while in the second year they develop their Master's project culminating in a final presentation of a performance and/or production.
