About the Program

Philosophy explores basic questions regarding reality, the world, life, actions and knowledge. The objective of the program is to awaken students' understanding of the classical problems and questions of philosophy. Students start with the most important historical positions and periods of philosophy and become acquainted with the working methods of philosophy with regard to systematic and historical aspects. The program covers general history of philosophy—from antiquity and the Middle Ages to modern period and German Idealism to contemporary philosophy—as well as subfields such as cultural philosophy, philosophy of science, theoretical philosophy, practical philosophy, ethics and modern logic. The teaching degree for vocational schools combines a professional discipline with a school subject and educational sciences.
