About the Program

With the establishment of the PreCollege Würzburg, the HfM Würzburg offers exceptionally artistically gifted children and young people an opportunity to prepare for musical studies during their general school years. The aim of the early musical support is the training of top talents at the highest level, beginning at a young age, by outstanding artists and teachers of the university, who also have many years of experience in working with children and young people. It also serves to prepare students in music practice and music theory for a bachelor's degree program. It is also possible to receive credit for the work performed for a later full course of study (Bachelor of Music). The program includes weekly 90 minutes in the artistic core subject, fortnightly general music theory/aural training (90 minutes), weekly 30 minutes of correpetition, chamber music lessons and chamber music projects, and supplementary subject piano on request.
