About the Program

The Protestant Theology program analyzes the statements of the Christian faith with the aim of contributing to the clarification of current questions. It deals with biblical scriptures and the Christian tradition as a whole, their historical development, and the development of Christian faith for the present in theory and practice. The 10-semester study is divided into basic and main studies. The basic study concludes with an intermediate examination, the main study with the Master's examination or the church examination. Students gain in-depth knowledge in Old and New Testament, Systematic Theology (Dogmatics and Ethics), Church History, Practical Theology, Religious Studies, Intercultural Theology, and Judaism, as well as interdisciplinary insights into the Christian faith and knowledge of philosophy.
