Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

The Master's program in Psychology integrates clinical-psychological content and, depending on the specialization, sexual-psychological or educational and school-psychological content. It qualifies students for work in one of two practical fields of psychology: Sexual Psychology or Educational and School Psychology. It also prepares students for consulting activities, work in psychological diagnostics, and participation in conceptual work in broader clinical-psychological contexts. The Master's program also entitles students to pursue a doctorate and prepares them for a possible academic career. Note on psychotherapy training: For students who began their Bachelor's degree in Psychology before September 1, 2020 under the old Psychotherapy Act, there is the possibility of completing postgraduate psychotherapy training under the old law within the transition period until 2032. The Master's program in Psychology does not qualify for the psychotherapeutic licensing examination or practice of the psychotherapeutic profession under the new law (Psychotherapist Act 2019).
