About the Program

The Study of Religion is an academic nondenominational discipline belonging to the canon of the humanities and cultural studies. Religions are considered as an integral part of culture. In the focus of the study of religion are different religious traditions and the historical and recent significance of these Religions in contexts of society and media. The program deals with constructing theories for the study of religions and religious education, literature of religions, socialization and didactics, the European history of religion, empirical research on contemporary religion in society and culture and analyzing the media.
