About the Program

The Slavic Studies Master's programme focuses on engaging with the languages, literatures, cultures and societies of Slavic countries. It is offered jointly by the Institute of Slavic Studies at the University of Oldenburg, the Institute of History at the University of Oldenburg, and the Federal Institute for Culture and History of the Germans in Eastern Europe (BKGE). The programme trains Eastern Europe experts who can reflect upon cultural and social phenomena with academic distance and apply their linguistic and academic skills in different discourses. The programme lasts 4 semesters with a total student workload of 120 ECTS, covering areas such as Slavic Languages and Literatures, German-Slavic contacts, language practice, and professionalization.
