About the Program

The consecutive, four-semester MA programme in Social Science (M.A.) at HHU builds on a successfully completed B.A. programme in social or political sciences and is directed towards academically interested students. The program imparts deepened knowledge about the analysis of social structures, the forms and problems of a democratic governance, the transnational society and European politics as well as mediatised political communication. Another focus lies on advanced social-scientific methods which enable the students to analyse and critically reflect the societal reality and political processes. The Master in Social Sciences is supported by the subjects Political Science and Sociology. It provides scientifically sound insights into social change and democratic governance in modern societies. The programme focusses on project-oriented study and independent research by students.
