About the Program

The Social Work degree program has a generalist orientation, training students for the entire breadth of this professional field. The aim is to acquire subject-specific basic knowledge based on the latest scientific findings as well as develop competences necessary for professional social work (subject-specific, methodological, social and personal competences). The university provides practice- and action-oriented teaching on a scientific basis. Students develop the ability to critically reflect and further develop professional tasks of social work to promote participation, self-determination and human dignity. Through workshops, project days and electives, students can pursue individual inclinations and explore personal fields of interest. The program includes a 20-week internship in the 4th semester. The degree program provides theoretical knowledge, practical-methodical skills and professional competences enabling graduates to work professionally within the entire spectrum of social work.
