About the Program

Sociology is the science of society. It asks questions about the social structures which shape peoples' actions and enable their coexistence within modern society. Students will get to know a large variety of empirical methods and deal with the interaction of economic, political and cultural rules. In addition to this they will be concerned with modern forms of social inequality and the conflicts that arise therefrom. The Bachelor's Programme in Sociology conveys basic subject knowledge that is necessary for continuing on with a Master's programme and for changing over to the working world. Students acquire the skills they need to grasp the main correlations of the subject and to apply the fundamental scientific methods and findings.
