Software-System-Entwicklung [Software Systems Development]

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

Application software determines almost every aspect of professional and personal daily life. Its development and design requires good programming knowledge, combined with communication skills and other 'soft skills'. The analysis and construction of software in the context of its application (for example, business, administration, or medicine) is therefore the focus of this bachelor's program, which is geared towards the complex requirements of current software systems. It combines theoretical foundations with project experience and practical application and is characterized by three subject areas: concepts and techniques of software development, familiarization with an application area of choice, and supplementary topics in general computer science. Innovative forms of teaching are combined with industrial internships and projects. The industrial internship with 480 hours of software development practice in an IT company is a unique feature of the bachelor's program. Essential study goals are: a solid foundation in software development and software engineering, mastery of the basics of computer science, methodological competence, social and communication skills, and experience with software projects.
