About the Program

The subject of social and cultural anthropology is everything human. During your studies, you will deal with cultural and social processes in a wide variety of contexts in different parts of the world and learn how to describe, compare and interpret them. Social and cultural anthropology is a descriptive and comparative cultural and social science. During your studies, you will acquire a broad knowledge of the various social, political, economic and religious forms in which people organise their coexistence. The program includes introductory modules that familiarize you with central working methods, historical roots, and current characteristics of the subject. You will learn about exemplary fields of application and gain experience with empirical research methods. The program offers modules on politics/social relations, economics, human-environment relations and religion. Through possible stays abroad and study projects, you will expand your intercultural competence and strengthen your ability to change perspectives.
