Spanish

Master of Education (M.Ed.)

About the Program

The Master's program in Spanish Education deepens students' linguistic and cultural competencies in Spanish and prepares them to teach these skills effectively. The program focuses on both theoretical knowledge and practical teaching methods. Students enhance their understanding of Spanish language, literature, and culture while developing innovative approaches to language and literature teaching. The curriculum addresses modern teaching challenges: how to create engaging lessons, which methods best promote language and media competence, how to use literary texts to stimulate cultural and historical reflection, how to convey regional and national identities of Spanish-speaking regions as living parts of global and European culture, and how to foster intercultural competencies. Students expand their academic perspectives from their Bachelor studies, analyzing literary works in their historical and cultural contexts, examining language development, and deepening their knowledge of social dynamics and theoretical perspectives on Hispanic cultures. A special emphasis is placed on connecting theory and practice, translating current academic findings into concrete teaching strategies. Throughout the program, students acquire not only solid subject-specific and didactic skills but also pedagogical expertise to individually support and guide students. Workshops, excursions, and practical exercises help apply and develop this knowledge in a school context.
