About the Program

The program imparts basic competencies in Spanish literature, culture and linguistics as well as in-depth communicative competencies in the Spanish language; it enables students to deal with transformation processes of linguistic, cultural and literary phenomena in the Spanish-speaking cultural area as well as to guided scientific work. Focus on Spanish Linguistics and/or Spanish Literary Studies and/or Spanish Cultural Studies (on two of three sub-subjects), depending on the student's choice. In the course of their studies, students acquire expert language skills in Spanish. In the bachelor's subject, various elective modules complement the course content and enable students to set their own personal emphasis. Professional prospects include cultural management, library and publishing, journalism/media, museums, adult education as well as other extracurricular forms of foreign language teaching, public relations, tourism, work in internationally operating companies and international institutions.
