About the Program

Studying Spanish Studies means much more than just learning the Spanish language and using it in communication. In addition to an intensive practical language training that is conducted by native lecturers, you will approach ways of philological exploration of Spanish and Latin American cultural diversity. During your studies, you will acquire methodical and analytical skills that will enable you to speak and write about Spanish texts and media in a reflective manner. Historical, political and social contexts are always taken into account, making you an expert on Spain and Hispanic America. The program focuses on Spanish language, literature and cultures of Spain and Hispanic America from the 16th century to the present. In the linguistic part, students systematically deal with the structure and history of the Spanish language. The program can be studied as a major or minor subject in the Interdisciplinary Bachelor's degree program.
