About the Program

The Police Service study program is a three-year full-time program with a total of 180 credit points (ECTS) that combines theoretical and practical content and concludes with the award of a Bachelor of Arts degree. The passed bachelor's examination is also recognized as a passed career examination for career group 2, police department, 1st entry level (formerly: higher service). The program consists of five academic semesters and one practical semester, characterized by a close integration of theoretical and practical study content. The first three semesters of theoretical study are complemented by practical module training on a weekly practice day. The fourth semester (practical semester) is also accompanied by theoretical instruction through systemic case studies. The final two semesters build upon the theoretical knowledge and practical experience gained by students, expanding and deepening these, and preparing graduates for their subsequent employment with the Bremen Police or the Bremerhaven Local Police Authority.
