About the Program

The Technical Orientation (OT) prep course offers students the opportunity to get a taste of various engineering degree programmes (Applied Materials Science, Engineering Psychology, Mechatronics and Digital Production, and Medical Engineering) on the Tuttlingen Campus in one semester. It's designed for those interested in technology but unsure which degree programme is right for them. The course introduces the basics of engineering within six months, covering theoretical subjects such as mathematics, physics and electrical engineering, complemented by laboratory work, orientation seminars, time management and other soft skills. Students will experience everyday student life, get familiar with lecture halls and labs, and have contact with professors and other students. The course includes company visits and insights into different sectors. Upon successful completion, students receive a certificate and can continue directly with a bachelor's degree, with many subjects being credited towards their future studies.
