The Information Centre for Foreign Language Research (IFS) operated as a department-independent central institution of Philipps-Universität Marburg from 1969 to 2021. It specialized in compiling and documenting literature and research activities in the fields of foreign language research and didactics, and with this thematic focus, it was unique in the Bundesrepublik Deutschland. From 1998 to 2019, it was led by Frank G. Königs.
