The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science is a scientific research institute established in March 1994. The Institute is one of over 80 research institutes of the Max Planck Society. Since its establishment, the Institute has continuously expanded the boundaries of the field of the history of science by critically questioning fundamental concepts, bringing multiple disciplines into dialogue, and experimenting with new research methods.
