Architecture

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

The Bachelor's degree programme in Architecture imparts practice-oriented knowledge in creative and structural design, construction technology, construction practice and the history of art and architecture. With a focus on dealing with existing buildings and intergenerational construction, the programme addresses current social issues in the region and beyond. The seven-semester programme is a contemporary combination of proven and practice-oriented architectural teaching with the comprehensive climate- and resource-related transformation of the construction industry. Students learn to apply practical and scientific findings independently and to implement them in a sustainable way using analogue and digital methods in design, construction and presentation. The focus is on the natural transformation of the 'resource' of existing buildings, including strategies for further construction and utilisation in cooperation with monument protection, as well as intergenerational construction.
