About the Program

Biochemistry deals with the chemical reactions that occur in living nature. All phenomena of life can be traced back to molecular processes, including cellular relationships and multicellular organisations of organisms. The Bachelor's degree programme provides students with a broad technical education in biochemistry, molecular biology and chemistry (general and inorganic chemistry, organic and physical chemistry). Students learn to investigate and interpret life processes and apply knowledge in areas such as basic research, hospitals and industry. The programme focuses on biochemistry and molecular biology, with a foundation in chemistry, mathematics, physics and biology. More than half of the programme consists of practical training courses, and students can gain advanced specialist knowledge through optional courses in biomedical research.
