Bowed Stringed Instruments

Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.)

About the Program

The training of the string classes ranges between the traditional and the modern, Dresden's top orchestras and soloistic aspiration. The focus of the study programme is the development of an artistic personality with all its creative potential, who confidently meets the requirements of the current music business. The basis for this is the comprehensive technical and musical training and promotion of creativity and independence. In addition to regular main subject studies and correpetition, the work in the college symphony orchestra as well as chamber music, early and new music belong to the focal points of the studies. This guarantees a broadly diversified and individual training. Ensemble projects with other musicians of the college and work in the college and workshop orchestras or the big band provide important practical experience. The corresponding stage practice guarantees regular podium concerts. Depending on personal objectives, students can choose between artistic and instrumental pedagogical studies.
