Business Administration

Master of Science (M.Sc.)

About the Program

Business administration (BWL) is the economic analysis about the "management" of "businesses". In this context, "business" is a more specific traditional term for companies. The term "management" is understood as the responsible use of limited resources. In other words, business administration is fundamentally concerned with the study of how companies use resources such as raw materials, goods, personnel and capital, and with the development of knowledge and instruments for organizing company activities in all their dimensions in such a way that the input/output relation is as optimal as possible. Students can choose two or three specialization modules, each consisting of 24 credit points. This is complemented by an elective module of 12 or 36 credit points as well as a seminar and master's thesis. Courses from the economics faculty or other faculties can be taken within the elective module, as can foreign language courses or an internship of at least six weeks.
