Chemical Engineering

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the Program

Chemical engineering is an interdisciplinary scientific-technical degree program that comprehensively and scientifically covers the processes used to convert substances for roughly half of all Germany's industrial products. This demanding program conveys broad and well-founded basic knowledge of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering while training students to become process engineers capable of planning, developing, implementing, assessing, and operating chemical engineering processes. The Bachelor's degree program first provides the necessary foundations in mathematics, physics, inorganic and organic chemistry, technical mechanics, materials science, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics, as well as instruction in transport processes. Building on this, subsequent courses are offered on specific subject areas within chemical engineering, such as process engineering, technical chemistry, apparatus construction, process dynamics and control, process design, and numerical mathematics, as well as specialization modules that can be selected according to one's own inclination. The theoretically acquired knowledge is consolidated through internships and practically applied in the Design Project within the framework of system planning.
