The Bachelor's degree course in Chemistry at Clausthal University of Technology provides students with the understanding and ability to help shape this exciting area of our lives. Chemistry at Clausthal is practice-oriented. We therefore not only teach the basic theories, but also impart experimental skills in many practical courses. The modular course begins with the basics of mathematics, physics and general chemistry. Subsequently, the chemical fundamentals are taught in the core subjects of inorganic and analytical chemistry, organic chemistry and physical chemistry through lectures, exercises and practicals. This is followed by specialization in the three core subjects plus the Clausthal specialty of Technical Chemistry. An excursion, elective modules on chemical and materials science topics, as well as interdisciplinary qualifications (e.g. computer science or business administration) round off the study program. The course concludes with a research internship and the scientifically oriented Bachelor's thesis.
