Data science is the foundation of the modern information society. In the Data Science degree program at TU Ilmenau, students first acquire a solid and balanced foundation in mathematical and computer science disciplines, enabling them to understand, implement and effectively use complex processes like machine learning and advanced methods of data analysis. From the first semester, students gain insights into practical handling of data from collection to evaluation. The program is designed in a bilingual format, gradually introducing English-language lectures through additional English courses specifically tailored to the vocabulary of the degree program. The curriculum includes mathematics (30%), computer science (22%), data science (33%), English language courses and Studium Generale (6%), and Bachelor thesis in English (9%).
