About the Program

The Design Education program combines artistic, design-oriented, and scientific knowledge and skills. It imparts future-relevant competencies such as thinking in processes and contexts as well as creative action. Topics from design, art, architectural and social space open up perspectives for interdisciplinary education. Practical, conceptual, and methodological competencies for independent and qualified design mediation and research are developed. From the 5th semester, the program divides into two different profiles: a teaching profile focused on school and extracurricular teaching activities, and a research profile focused on research-based or research-intensive design and development activities.
