About the Program

Electronic Composition is a degree program for current trends in contemporary art music with a focus on electronic and digital music. The course includes the compositional examination of instrumental, performative or music-theatrical compositions with the inclusion of new and latest technologies. During the course of study, the initial aim is to acquire basic knowledge in the field of composition in various contexts and to test it in practice in a variety of ways. In addition to the basic offerings in the composition courses, the Electronic Composition program offers software courses. In the main course of study, specialization is pursued as preparation for a corresponding master's degree program or for direct transition into an independent profession. The range of possibilities extends from mixed forms of instrumental and digital composition, to installations or pure Internet works, to 3D audio and VR. The focus of the program is on the presentation of students' work in and outside the university. The training takes place in the rooms of the Studio for Electronic Music of the university.
