Bachelor German + English Arts & Design

Fashion Design

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

About the Program

The aim of this course of study is to train creative fashion designers with their own trademark approaches. They should be able to combine individuality, an awareness of problems and technical skill in their innovative concepts. The educational profile at Burg Giebichenstein offers almost ideal conditions for an artistically oriented study of fashion design. The combination of the areas of fine and applied arts creates an excellent basis for broad and, at the same time, individually tailored design education. A deliberate approach to elementary artistic methods is at the core of the subject-specific study of the fundamentals. Sensibility for form, colour and materials will be further developed in free practical exercises in design. During the course, an integrated educational process will give students practical skills and confidence when developing conceptual designs and implementing them. Students will be prepared for a range of areas of professional activity by completing complex tasks and working on experimental or product-related projects.
